Dear Fred

Good morning, I would like to know if it is a natural thing to not feel like or want to read my bible - i am a christian about 6 years and lately i can think about 50 other things i can be doing that to sit still, and i dont remember being that way before - (when i first beleived) i am enjoying reading the writings of Fenelon on your site, and they bring such a comfort to my anxious worried head, always afraid that i'm such a displeasure to God and waiting for the final blow, and now that i seem to struggle so much with reading, praying..is this something every christian experiences?

Fred's Response

The devil does everything he can to divert us from worship and scripture reading. I too get a lot from Fenelon as well as Oswald Chamber’s “My Utmost for His highest.” Make a habit of reading your bible the same as eating your meals. The Christian life requires discipline. Scripture reading is one the absolutely necessary for a vital relationship with Christ.
