Another brick in the foundation of great speaking is believability.  It is vital to your presentation.  Therefore, decide specifically on the areas in which you are considered to be an expert.  Be sure your illustrations carry out your authenticity.  I once attended a meeting where a man considered himself well-read on a technical subject, but in actuality was very shallow.  After he exposed his ignornace the next speaker, who really was an expert, took him apart.  His credibility was gone.  If I am speaking on theology or philosophy I limit myself to the subject which I try to personify.  Remember, that the introduction will only partially credentialize you with the audience.  And, your speech must validate the introduction.
