FRED'S DOINGS

One of the faithful BWF Community members made a great suggestion ---- give us more insight into Fred.

When he was so ill the website became a natural way to communicate with everyone.  Now it may be an excellent venue for sharing everyday stories.  Chris, thanks for the good idea!

Fred is reading through Bill Bright's tremendous book, The Journey Home.  It is an honest account of Bill Bright's experiences shortly before his homegoing in 2003.  As daughter Brenda reads to him he lies in his hospital bed quietly processing each thought.  As you know he boldly states that he is not afraid to die, but willing to stay if he can be helpful to others.  His dying is wrapped in living.

Yesterday an energetic businessman called, asking for time with Fred.  He wanted a picture of himself and Fred.  As he develops his speaking career he wants to have that picture in front of him as a reminder.  Whose picture do you carry around, even mentally, to encourage your best work?

His two weekly days off from dialysis are filled with phone calls, emails, website work and personal visits.  On Tuesday he and Ofelia (his home health care aide) headed out to Cindy's for a bowl of matzo ball soup.  When the physical therapist called to schedule the appointment he misunderstood and thought they were at Home Depot.  Oh, no.... what kind of project could he possibly be starting?  Hide the tools!

Okay, each week you will get a flavor of Fred ----his 90 plus life is jam packed with activity.  He is not going to rust out!

Thanks for caring.  And thanks, especially, for the ASK FRED questions --- he really loves them.  As he works on them he pictures himself sitting with the person having a one-on-one.  So, you get the best of Fred!
