"Can you walk at all, sir?" "No, I can talk the talk but I can't walk the walk," was Fred's quick response. Just as quickly the nurse who was wheeling him to surgery said, "Well, you talk the talk and WE will walk the walk for you!"
They were able to replace the infected catheter into another location in Fred's chest. It is yet untested. Tomorrow's dialysis session will be the proving ground for this new equipment. But we seriously doubted that they would be able to do the exchange ---- great news.
Prayer requests:
1) Successful dialysis session - the new catheter operates well.
2) Speedy discharge - Fred told the doctors that he couldn't stay overnight Friday because his Saturday group is just too important. He has been accumulating thoughts and discussion points for them all week!
3) Rest for everyone.
Fred told the surgical nurses today that there is probably more prayer raised in that area than in many churches. He said, "perhaps they should change the name to prayer room instead of surgical room."
You are a huge part of this web we call intercessory prayer. Thank you.
Tune in tomorrow night for an update on the catheter and dialysis ----- good stuff. John Grisham may be looking for new material --- this has it all: drama, life/death, humor, interesting characters and triumph.
One last word: the catheter is untested, but our faith isn't. He has been proven worthy!
