Fred continues in ICU. He underwent two procedures yesterday that were related to his battle with infection. He survived both.
The Lord gave the family an extraordinary gift because Fred was clear in his thinking and communication for 6-7 hours and had meaningful conversation with each member. He later grew confused, but still was aware of people in the room.
We want to share a great Fred story with you. Jeff Horch, his grandson, remembered how much he enjoyed listening to Elvis sing gospel, so he received permission to bring his CD player into the ICU. We weren't sure he was hearing it at all, but music continued for hours. Heather Richardson, his granddaughter, sat with him throughout the night on Saturday. About 4:00 on Sunday AM he woke up, looked at Heather and spoke three words very distinctly and clearly, "NO MORE ELVIS!"
Specific prayer requests:
1) God will be honored in Fred's body, mind and spirit.
2) God will be honored through the presence of family and friends.
3) Mary Alice will feel comfort and understanding.
