EMOTIONAL ENERGY

Emotional situations create energy. The more flexible our response, the more we are able to use the energy. Often the rigid person gets blown apart by the very energy he could have used so successfully. Our cars are propelled by a series of controlled explosions… each separate explosion is timed and contained by a combination of elements. Likewise, our emotional energy flows through us. It can’t be timed or controlled as perfectly as a car, but planning and discipline provide control. The flexible person learns not to panic. It comes from constant mental discipline, even in the smallest matters. Decide not to panic no matter what happens. If you learn to stay cool in the everyday happenings, you will build the habit that keeps you flexible when the big situations hit you. If you freeze on the small, you will lock up when the difficult ones face you. First, you make the decision not to panic and then you practice, practice, practice.
