Dear Fred

Hi Fred, Am I wrong in thinking that the answer to most problems is to have the proper motivation? I may be guilty of waiting for such motivation...

Fred's Response

The solutions to problems depends on facts, not motivation. If your problem is procrastination, laziness or what salesmen identify as "call reluctance" then motivation is helpful. But it isn't the only answer for solving problems. You must look at your situation and see which have a possibility of solution and which are just "facts of life." If you are seriously interested in studying motivation I would recommend motivational authorities such as Zig Ziglar. Zig has a Christian understanding of motivation and would not falsely build you up. There is the fine balance between waiting on the Lord for answers and taking the initiative to step out with the light and wisdom that He has already given you. If you have the slightest inkling of taking a step toward solution, do it and do it now. You will then see what the next step should be. Don't use lack of motivation as a means of escape. Sometimes we do things before we want to just because we know it is the right thing to do.
