Dear Fred

Hi Fred, it was great to be at your home on Saturday - thank you! I do not agree that God wanted us to be divisive - or that there are many different answers. I was reading 1 Corinthians last night - and Paul is very clear that he does not want division in the church. We are to read / meditate on the Word / ask Jesus and the Holy Spirit for guidance. When we ask the Holy Spirit, he does bring forth the right information to enlighten us. I think in the church, too many egos get in the way - wanting to be "right" or creative - and not focused on the Word of God.

Fred's Response

We have to recognize the contrast between being divisive and having differences. I enjoy certain Bible teachers yet do not always agree with all of their theology. It does not keep me from intently listening to them. I doubt that any of us has the whole truth. I believe that Peter and Paul had differing points of view on some doctrinal issues. It has always seemed so practical to me that by having different denominations the leadership is spread out and we avoid the huge religious bureaucracy that would result from just one group.
