Dear Fred

Fred, I was drawn to Christ at an early age but only came to faith very late in my life. I have two adult sons who've seen me at my worst. Neither are Christians. What in your experience is the best way to share the gospel with them without being too "preachy"? I know my actions will speak louder than words. But words nevertheless are what God uses to communicate to us His gospel. Besides, we are seperated by two states. Your advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Fred's Response

Do you sons truly believe that you are now “real?” Have you been entirely honest about the transformation? Do they see illustrations of that? Is your walk louder than your talk? If so, I feel that they will be inclined to listen but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they will give up their way of life for yours. Each of us has to come to the point of recognizing our sin and need of a Savior. When they reach that point by the drawing of the Spirit they will remember your testimony. Don’t be impatient. Keep praying for them.
