What was the sin Moses' committed against God that he could not go into promise land?

He struck the rock twice………….To me, he sinned by exceeding God’s command and in a human way tried to use God’s power. Possibly he was giving himself the glory, rather than God. God will not share His glory with anyone. We cannot do God’s work in man’s way.
