Dear Fred
I read in something you wrote--I believe it may have been Leadership Journal--a statment that has helped shape my ministry. You said something like this, "I am never ready to speak for God until I would just as soon have someone else do it" Can you point me to the place you said this. I would like to re-read the article. Thanks
Fred's Response
This is one of my firm beliefs but not for the life of me can I remember where I stated it. Now at 91 I enjoy preparing my material more than I do delivering it. When I was young I enjoyed the spotlight now I enjoy the content. Fortunately, people seldom complement on my speaking ability but they want to discuss with me the meaning and ramifications of the content of my message. I believe this is as it should be. For example if I were a excellent composer but a poor performer I would so much rather have some else perform what I had written. I have four friends, all excellent communicators, to whom I supply material. Zig Ziglar’s editor told him that if I ever wanted to know what I thought I could read his books. I am happy to share my gift of preparation with such an excellent communicator.
