Dear Fred, I just read your book--it was great!! I am curious. You wrote about a person of "Seminal graciousness" holding a marble with the golden rule around it. I have such a marble that was given to me in 1974 by the then president of the Ortho Lawn and Garden Products division of Chevron Chemical Company. Would the gentleman to whom you refer be Channing Jones Jr. He was truly a gracious gentleman and would have been a contemporary of yours. That marble was his trademark and I was proud that he shared that tradition with me. Thanks Fred and keep on writing! Steve Rupp

No, it was not Mr. Jones who gave me the marble. In fact I can remember the instance but not the name. I am glad that more then one was encouraging others in this way.
