Dear Fred

I have been for years introducing people to personal development and through that have been able to share my faith and the Grace of Jesus Christ. Now there is "The Secret". My question is in your opinion what way do I continue to share my faith with people that are sold on the "The Secret". Because it leaves out the most important fact of salvation and submitting your self to God and His plans (Jer.29)?

Fred's Response

There is no secret to personal development. It continues to be done the way it has been done for hundreds of years. People, who are selling development courses, like to talk about it as a secret because they tell be people they can learn it quickly, implement immediately and then prosper. This will make them rich. Look at all the Asian children leading our economic systems. They are not looking for a “secret” or short-cut. They simply know it is hard-work, dedication and consistency. I involve Christ by saying there is no greater compliment I can give the Creator then by developing parts of his creation. Remember there is temporary and permanent improvement. It is much better to develop a person in the area of permanence and not temporary. This life is temporary and the next one is permanent.
