Dear Fred

I'm a Federal Mgr. at a Gov. Facility. Recently my supervision located out of state, assigned an additional Federal Mgr. to work with me in a two man office. I have more time in pay grade (seniority) then he does, yet I was told that we will be working side by side with equal organizational authority. Recently, issues have arisen that we hold different views on and I am trying to figure out how to address them without causing dissension. My question is: In your opinion, does an office structured this way stand a chance. Also, should I press management to assign a rank structure – placing one of us in charge of the office?
