Dear Fred
Fred is it wrong to drink no more than 3 beers even though I am a Christian. I know how Satan works and also know other people see you drinking even though one says he is a Christian
Fred's Response
Many Christians in other cultures drink beer as we do coffee, tea or cola. Since beer has a different effect on people I think a number is legalistic. The two principles underlying your decision are intent and moderation. If you use it as a pleasant beverage with food on social occasions it differs from using it to experience the impact of the alcohol. Also, your motive must be clear on your witness to others around you. What may be alright for you may negatively influence someone else, so your liberty may become a bondage for them. I have no personal experience with beer, but this seems to be my observation. Part of maturing in Christ is growing past the temptation to see how close you can get to the line without crossing over. Be sure you do a heart check as you make these decisions.
