How can I get closer to God when I have been asked to leave my long time church because of MY adultery. (I repented, I found a lady to be accountable to, then the pastor found out 8 months later and asked my husband & I to leave because my husband has forgiven the other person and continued to stay friends with him, on his own)?

Your relation with God does not depend on any particular church. The pastor can ask you to leave the membership of a church but not the family of God. You are still a believer and part of the bride of Christ. When God has forgiven you it makes little difference if other Christians do. In fact they are setting their standard of justice above God which is a sin.
