When does interpretation of the Bible become rationalizing and how can one note the differences?

When you interpret the bible the way you want it to be rather then they way you know it should be then you are rationalizing it. When in doubt look up the interpretation in a good commentary or ask a friend who is knowledgeable about scripture. You are wise to protect yourself against rationalization which is so common.
