Dear Fred

Your quote today states, "a mystery is to be eliminated and a puzzle is to be solved". That puzzled me so I looked up the definition of mystery which is - Anything that is kept secret or remains unexplained or unknown or any truth unknowable except by divine revelation. So my question is - how do you eliminate a mystery?

Fred's Response

Thanks for your observation. You have effectively pointed out that sometimes a finer point on the pencil is necessary. I will definitely go back and reword the thought. What I was meaning to say was that a mystery is to be explored (not eliminated) and puzzles are to be solved. My friend, Ray Stedman, spent his entire life exploring the mysteries of God. Good catch!
