Dear Fred

Fred, How do I walk away from a relationship, when that person says that I am the most important person in their lives outside of family, but we can only be friends? I have been spending so much time with this person lately - sparking the chance of a rekindlement, however she says it can go no further. I ask "WHY" not, and she can only say there is no explanation, it is what it is. We have been attending church services together and doing good ol' dumb stuff together with so much enjoyment. Should I simply walk away from this altogether if it is not meeting my expectations? I appreciate any help on this matter. God Bless, Fred.

Fred's Response

It appears to me you are not walking away you are being pushed away. Love is mutual. I have seen some very sad couples together where their regard for each other was very different. Don’t kid yourself that you can make the other person can change into the person you would like them to be. Adults change very little.
