Do I play God by punishing myself or others?

Back in the day when I was a "recovering catholic" I suffered from the goyim version of "Jewish Guilt." We beat ourselves up over "sin" because we were under law, instead of grace. Now, because of Key Life and other Ministries (Swindoll is teaching "grace" this week) we can get over ourselves and get into right relationship with others over this issue. We don't punish; we instruct, encourage and exhort. God punishes. Sin punishes. We warn encourage and exhort. Whether we warn or instruct depends on our relationship to the "others." I warn my co-workers; I instruct my grandchildren. Occasionally the roles get reversed, but it depends on how ugly they are, and how badly their mother dressed them that day. S'Agapo, Tony D in C-L-T
