Mary Alice is 89 today!
Proverbs 31 speaks of the children of a Godly woman's rising up and calling her blessed. Her children are truly blessed by her life. She has been a support to Fred like no other and a champion for her children beyond description. When her eldest misbehaved as an eighth grader and was sent to the principal's office, Mary Alice promptly headed to the school and got right in the face of a 200+pound woman teacher who had less than admirable remarks about Mary Alice's chicken. It didn't matter that she was way outweighed, or way undersized ---- she was protecting her own! However, the "chicken" had to face an equally tough Mom on the way home.
Mary Alice's health continues to decline. She is at home under the supervision of Community Hospice. How grateful we are that she will continue to be comfortable.
Specific prayer requests
1) Continued protection from infection for Fred
2) Healing of the wounds on the heels
3) Praise for the unceasing physical, emotional and spiritual support
4) Mary Alice's comfort
Praise be to God for his indescribable gift... His gift of the Lord Jesus Christ; His gift of the Holy Spirit's encouragement; His gift of the community of believers who sustain and uphold. May He give you comfort as you comfort others. May He give you opportunities to receive the fullness of His grace.
