HEALTH UPDATE ON FRED (Nov, 2)

The story is told that Charles Dickens in his old age would travel with a physician.  One night before an address he registered no pulse rate.  But the crowd had assembled and he would not disappoint, so he headed to the podium and gave it his all.  Someone noted that the source of such energy was just mysterious.  Perhaps Fred and Charles Dickens have much in common.  There are days when his blood pressure drops rapidly and he becomes very sick.  But the call of a friend or the opportunity to mentor brings him from "no pulse" to the "pulse beat of contribution."

The surgical wounds continue to heal exceedingly well.Fred will return to the doctor next week for a followup visit.

Mary Alice continues to decline peacefully.  There is great thankfulness for the absence of pain.  Her awareness of heaven increases and her articulation of "going home" grows clearer.

Specific prayer requests

1) Strength to speak clearly and impact many at the Roaring Lambs banquet on November 6th

2) Appreciation for all those who have volunteered to get Fred back and forth to dialysis during Ofie's absence.

3) Healing and recovery for Ofie

4) Quietness and peace for Mary Alice
