Fred is "standing on the premises" by "standing on the promises." Last week, with the help of a tremendously encouraging physical therapist, Fred stood alone on his size 15 feet! "I am learning a completely new definition of patience. When I was young hearing the PT say that he is sure I will move from bed to wheelchair within 3 months would have generated a 'now-let's do it now' response. But today I am grateful for any and all progress."
Fred spoke to Zig Ziglar's class and received tremendous feedback. Several class members have trekked over to sit by his bed and feed from this very deep and rapidly flowing spring.
The entourage packed up and escorted him to the Bent Tree Bible Study Christmas Party on the 4th. He was given a place of honor by the fireplace where he greeted 150 people and engaged them in personal conversation.
Specific prayer requests:
1) Continued protection from infection and safety for the dialysis port
2) Thanksgiving for the abounding support during this time of mourning Mary Alice's death
3) Praise for TEAM FRED members, especially Ron, Donald, John, Ed, Scott, Tommy, Tom, Fred B, John G, Bill, Jeff and Bob who consistently make it possible for Fred to travel.
Longtime friend and TEAM FRED member Ed Yates is an excellent pastry chef. As he left last week he asked if the last one was okay ---Fred admitted that it took 6 pieces to really make sure. Ed replied, "I will get you "re-pied!"
The head knowledge about having a loved one in heaven has become a reality this year. For all of you who have sent someone ahead "get the place ready" know that the BWF community is praying with you. In this season of celebration our prayer is that your lives may shine with His glory and may reflect the power that only He can give. Thank you for caring. Thank you for praying. Thank you for representing the Lord Jesus Christ to whom all praise and worship is directed. Blessings.
