Time to catch you all up. Thank you for the prayer support - it is so very evident. We hope that you feel connected to the BWF community through praying together.
Fred had a large amount of fluid drained from his right lung on Friday after dialysis. The xray showed neglible fluid in the left lung, but significant accumulation in the right. Dr. Shulkin, his pulmonologist, was confident that this procedure would help Fred's breathing and sense of well-being.
The cough is abating and the energy level is increasing. On Saturday he had 17 gather around in the Breakfast With Fred conversational open house. The laughter fills the house as the group moves from subject to subject effortlessly. If you are in Dallas on Saturday morning, contact the website and get directions to the house. You are always welcome. No reservations needed! Saturday evening was the first "Saturday Night Live with Fred" and it was a resounding success. Look for future news items about session #2 coming up in about 6-8 weeks.
Specific prayer requests:
1) Continued recovery and healing
2) Maximum effectiveness of dialysis process. Fred is retaining too much fluid afterwards and needs to be detoxified and drained at the optimum level.
3) Productive time for writing weekly thoughts and interacting with ASK FRED questions.
Eugene Peterson begins his interpretation of the Second Book of Thessalonians like this: " You need to know, friends, that thanking God over and over for you is not only a pleasure, it is a must. We have to do it. " That is exactly the way we feel about you. We do thank God for you and it is a must. Your faithfulness and your encouragement cheer the hearts of Fred and all around him.
