Fred celebrated his half birthday last week. As a young man he sold insurance for two years. He loves to say that he had to change leave the insurance business because of illness ------ his sales manager was sick and tired of him! One trace of that experience remains... Fred mentally and publicly changes his age at the six month mark in accordance with old insurance company procedures. So, to all he is now 91! Some friends in Dallas are actually having a half birthday party for him tomorrow.
The excess fluid is gone as are the cough and the fever. He has not regained the leg strength, but is working hard to recapture his mobility. His physical therapist is amazed at his mental toughness.
The next Saturday Night Live with Fred has been scheduled. It will be April 22nd from 6pm to 6:55pm central. To sign up please send your name and email address to register@breakfastwithfred.com
Specific requests:
1) ability to sustain the acceptable level of fluid removal during dialysis. Quicker recovery after treatment.
2) protection while daughter Brenda travels to Phoenix for the Guideposts meeting. Fred lives with her.
3) Energy for continued mentoring.
In the last weeks several of Fred's friends have experienced health problems and been supported by many through intercessory prayer. They have commented about the power of this mysterious strength. Fred continually thanks the Lord for all of you who lift him up. The bond among the BWF community is indescribable and marvelous. Sometimes we pray and then we wait, don't we? Eugene Peterson paraphrases Psalm 40:1 this way --- "I waited and waited and waited for the Lord." We are thankful that as we wait we are joined together. Each of you is a blessing to Fred.
